Jermaine sings praises of Salsa
FORGET the gym and start dancing.
That's the message from a Black Isle-based salsa teacher who points to the latest episode of TV smash Strictly Come Dancing to back her up.
Cromarty-based promoter, dance teacher and salsa choreographer Jermaine McCracken quoted singer Alesha Dixon who was watched by millions going through her paces with former footballer, John Barnes.
The singer stated, "People should forget going to the gym and just go out dancing. It's a great workout and such fun."
Jermaine, who teaches classes as far afield as Ullapool and Skye, said, "Salsa dancing is a great body workout, you get to meet people and dancing is so much fun. You don't see people in a gym or road running having a great laugh.
The enthusiast added, "Salsa dancers have a special chemistry and zest for life and I would love to see more people coming alive in this way.
"Exercise through a creative form such as dance has a way of not only improving physical fitness, it helps improve mood, enhances interpersonal communication skills and promotes spatial awareness.
"These benefits help individuals become more aware of life around them and can bring couples closer together."     For more information call Jermaine on 07803706842.
